La Salle International Students

La Salle Secondary School has a long tradition of hosting exchange students from other countries. Immersed into the English speaking environment of their peers, teachers and community these students benifit from learning not only the language but also about Canadian customs, traditions and culture. The La Salle community is richer for hosting these students, especially when they share details of their cultures and language with us. We still remember Rebeca from New Zealand, Lari from Finland and many, many others from different countries like France, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Norway, South Korea and the United States. This year we have students from South Korea, Germany and France.

Liz Keenan is an exchange teacher from Australia. She is doing a working exchange with Kit Wykes. Liz will be with us for two semesters teaching English and Drama and Kit Wykes will be in her town of Wollongong, Australia doing the same. Welcome Liz.

Liz Keenan has achieved celebrity status at La Salle. She is one of the elite few who have received La Salle's prestigious Public Relations Award. Recipients of this award have shown outstanding work in public relations, displayed the ability to remain calm and show tolerance in the face of adversity as well as the ability to endure hours of scrutiny. This award was presented by the distinguished Michael Howe. Liz can be seen in this photo receiving the award in front of past award winners. The award will remain at La Salle Secondary School and Ms. Keenan's name will be placed on the trophy.
